The Honest Story Behind Reality Check Travel Guide

Hi, I’m Taylor, and I travel with my wife. We’re not travel experts or influencers—just regular people who love exploring new places together. Over the years, we found that a lot of travel advice online felt overhyped or didn’t quite match the reality of visiting a destination. That’s why we started this blog: to share honest, no-nonsense stories and give you a clear, realistic picture of what it’s really like to travel.

Our goal is to provide practical guides, honest reviews, and genuine insights from the perspective of everyday travelers. We want to help you plan your own trips with confidence and avoid the usual tourist traps or overly polished “Instagram perfect” versions of destinations.

This blog is a hobby for us, something we do alongside our full-time jobs and everyday life. We’re passionate about travel and may share affiliate links to products or services we genuinely use and trust. While these links help support the blog at no extra cost to you, our focus remains on honest, helpful advice — not just pushing products for money.

Before starting this journey, we had no blogging experience, limited video editing skills, and no camera knowledge — everything has been a learning process as we go. I’ve also been someone who was very quiet on social media, so this is as much a personal challenge as it is an adventure to share.

Between us, we have been fortunate to visit a number of countries over the years, but this is the first trip we’re actively posting about here. For our content creation, we’ll be using a DJI Osmo Action 4 and an iPhone 16 Pro. Our blog is put together without a laptop, so everything will be made on the go.

Thanks for stopping by and joining us on this adventure. If you want to stay up to date, sign up for our newsletter below — we’ll send you honest updates and helpful travel tips, no spam, ever.
